Fulani At War Again With The Tiv People.Killed 20 People And Burnt Houses.



The continuous killings between the people of Fulani and Tiv should be given a more concern than ever before.
The recent outbreak that happen on Friday between the two ethnic group that took the lives of no fewer than 20 people in Nzorov ward, in Guma Local Government Area of Benue state, has shown the indication that sooner or later ,one among the two group will be wiped out of the surface of the earth if proactive measures is not adopted by the FG to nip the situation in the bud.
                
The information received has it that the entire Nzorov ward in Iyordye Akaahena village ,was turned up side down by Fulani herdsmen ,who also burnt down many houses.
This coming on the hill that the warring parties had few weeks ago agreed to lay down their arms for peace to reign.

It was gathered that some armed Fulani herdsmen who were dressed in military camouflage, had invaded the Tiv village in the afternoon in a convoy of vehicles from the neigbouring Nasarawa State.

”They stormed the village when most of our young men were in the farms; they leveraged on that to burn down the entire village after killing over 20 persons, though the exact number are yet to ascertain due to the fact that the fighting is still going on . People are already fleeing from their villages in search of safe haven in neigbouring villages,” the sources said.

The Guma Local Government council Chairman, Mr. Frank Adii said that fighting was still going on  in the village as at the time of this report.

”From what I have gathered so far, the casualty figure is high with many injured but I am yet to confirm the number of casualties.  I have already alerted security agencies on the development,” Adii said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Deputy Superintendent, Daniel Ezeala confirmed the fighting but added that the police had no report of deaths arising from the crisis. 

Though police men have been drafted to the area to quell the situation ,but numbers of those killed have not been reported to them.
